About Ateleris and Our Values
We are an experienced software technology provider working on applied research and development projects for industrial and public partners in Switzerland and internationally. We offer our know-how and expertise to collaborate on projects with a certain je-ne-sais-quoi. Our team members are professionals with strong backgrounds in their respective areas of specialization, such as software development, embedded programming, algorithm design, machine learning, data exploitation, and optimization.
We are focused on (re)using technology and transfer knowledge and know-how from one domain to another. Thus we are involved in projects from a wide technological and topical range: we have developed embedded flight software and algorithms for satellites, engineered software so that robots find their way around, developed algorithms and smart applications for industry customers, and built data analytics solutions for data exploitation by business clients.
We are very interested in unconventional and challenging projects that allow us to use all of our experience. We prefer to work together with you on finding the right solutions in an agile and collegial manner. CEO & Co-Founder | MSc in Computer ScienceBefore we founded Ateleris in 2016, I worked as a system engineer in IT and applied research at NASA (USA) and later at the Institute of Data Science (CH), where I managed the ground and flight software efforts for the solar instrument STIX onboard ESA Solar Orbiter mission. To this day, I am involved in the daily STIX instrument operations.

Filip Schramka
Embedded Engineer | MSc in Computer ScienceI have over ten years of experience as a soft- and hardware developer. My main interests are computer graphics, digital image processing, human interaction in virtual spaces, low-level programming, and hardware development. After my apprenticeship as an electronics technician at Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in Baden, Switzerland, I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. I spend a few years abroad in countries like Singapore and China, working on virtual reality, simulation, robotics, and computer graphic projects. I am also currently teaching algorithms and parallel computing at FHNW.

Data Scientist | MSc ETH in Computer ScienceI started developing software over 15 years ago during an apprenticeship as an application developer. After completing my bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, my interests shifted to machine learning and data science during my master’s degree at ETH Zurich. I used this experience in various research projects in optimization, text processing, and image processing.
I help apply machine learning to real-world problems, e.g., teaching the machine learning lab and recommender systems modules at FHNW’s CAS Data Science.

MedTech Lead | MSc in Biomedical EngineeringDuring my studies and work at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, I was able to familiarize myself with various technologies and topics such as web development, UX design, and game development (mainly 3D).
Due to my great interest in medicine, I pursued a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel in 2019. I did my Master’s thesis with the Forensic Institute Basel on automatically recognizing causes of death based on CT images.

Joel Blumer

My Master’s program at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) ignited my passion for space projects. Since then, I’ve been involved in various software projects for satellites and their ground processing. Fullstack Developer | MSc in Computer ScienceOver a decade ago, I delved into computer science as an IBM intern, performing manual testing and building automated testing procedures. At the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, I specialized in Information Processing and Visualization for my bachelor’s in computer science. I pursued my master’s at FHNW while working at the Institute of Interactive Technologies, focusing on Extended Reality, Interaction Design, User Experience, and applied Machine Learning. My master’s thesis involved creating a smartphone app for elderly individuals, aiding exercising through tracking with human pose estimation. Post-graduation, I continued researching these topics as a research associate.
